Discrete colony- is laboratory culture containing a single cell parent, whereas biofilm is a complex structure of microbiome having different bacterial colonies. Microorganisms require some nutrients such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, etc. Organotrophs are organisms that obtain hydrogen or electrons from organic substrates, while lithotrophs obtain nutrients from the inorganic substrate.
